The environment is created for women and men to exercise equal rights and enjoy equal opportunities in a violence free environment.

Outcome

1: Early Marriage is reduced
2: Domestic Violence is reduced
3: Reduced sexual harassment at institutional level.

4: Increased number of women making decisions in the political arena.

Target group(s):

Individuals/Groups: Gender Change Activists, Women Activists, Sufia kamal Fellow, Students Volunteers, Students Supports groups, Local Trainer Groups (LTG) Member organization of Gad alliance, Local Government, Nari Nirjaton Protirodh Committee (NNPC), School/College, Marriage Registrar office, Health Complex, District Administration, Sub-district administration, Media, Community, District Legal Aid Committee.

Estimated results

  • Increased proactive role of NNPC. The responsible person of NNPC in 3 unions keeping records of incidents on violence against women and follow up.
  • Village police, LGs and local administrations have more sensitized to reduce early marriage. Local administrations building linkage with district WID and legal aid for dowry cases victims.
  • Women candidate demand the equal rights in LG election. They have raised voice together to local authority for discrimination free election.
  • 6 early marriage protested by the collective endeavors of Islamkati, Tentulia and Tala Sador.
  • Peoples are more aware regarding stop domestic violence through day observation, discussion.
  • About 20% women in project area are being aware about their human rights and strengthening movement to stop domestic violence.
  • 6 number of high school authority committed to form a committee to protest sexual harassment and early marriage as per order legislation of high court.
  • The UP chairman committed to provide Birth registration after cross check with ID and marriage registrar, Purohit has given promised to not conduct marriage without actual birth registration certificate.
  • A MoU has been signed by UNO, Sub-district Administration, UP Chairman, Marriage registrar, Purohit to protest early marriage.

Estimated results

Children from excluded groups have access to NCTF activities and existing child rights situation will be incorporated in Child-Led CRC Alternative report (Our Story Book)

  • Collect, update information on program issues (early marriage, birth registration, marriage registration, etc.)
  • Dialogue with Hindu Temple committee, Hindu religious leaders and Purahit.
  • NNPC and village police active, responsive and developed a referral system to report incidences of domestic violence.
